Cultural Fields: there are other firms of capital that define ous as a culture, 

     Definition: the interactions between the institutions, rules, and practices. 

          Conflict arises when people attempt to define capital, (i.e. money, resources, and power)

Capital is both materialistic is symbolic

     Money is a symbol of what someone is worth

          The symbolic equates to prestige, status (a form of capital), and class

     Knowledge as capital: ?

 

How do the symbolic and material integrate?

     As Raven said: the  woman in the fur coat illustration

     Would you trust a familial car company? (It is a marketing scheme, despite that it might be true)

          Can it ever go global? Can they keep both sides f the capital? 

               There is a shift (related to dual identity of immigration)

 

Does power make me rise in class? Think of both sides of capital

     Celebrity as symbolic power(?)

     What about fear? 


Symbolic Capital: simulation of power - derived from social structure 

     Barging chip or legacy 

     Is it actual power?

     Power: many definitions are examples of power, but we created that as a sociel construct. It's abstract to define power. We label it or we point to a social construct.

          Power vs. advantage.

 

Symbolic Violence: Use symbolic capital to manipulate subordinate culture

      Mother illustration in Bourdieu. 

            She uses signals, signs, or fear (a form of symbolic capital)

 

Social Reproduction:

      Why does the mother look translate to mother to mother

           They learn the qu's 

           The underprivileged culture is unfaminwith these social qu's

Discussion:knowledge is capital

 

We are using knowledge as power that we have coconstructed 

 

have we mismanaged thinking (not knowledge)?

     Reality exists without me exiting or reality exists only within my space.

 

Has knowledge ended if I stop thinking and engaged in the same repetitative activities?

 

*Is knowledge unequitavly distributed the problem or is it the push for knowledge that has been nusmanagend? 

     Are the schools knowledge or places to advance to think?can knowledge be ever equally distributed? No!!!....probably not.

 

if knowledge is infinite and abstract, should we not the focus more about the push to think?

     The resources define our view of knowledg, which is our key to perceived access, it should be about opening the door for allow a person to produce new knowledge (thinking independantly).
