          Seven Steps or not (disfunctional)

          (Highlights):

                           1) Structural Assimlilation (most difficult): Think foundation, a framework, - immigrants is straight into the mainstream culture (or becoming part of the structure)

                                What is mainstream culture?

Other 6 follow naturally, (other six irrelevant)

How can one assimilate into the structures (And figure it all out)?

     Segmented Assimilation Theory: Experiential

Context: the shaping ideas or forces

Experience, environment, and people --> Next Generatin: Fully assimilation (slowly, in segments) - E.g. Toy illustration

         Factors

Upon Arrival: First impact --> effects ability to assimilate

                Location:

Lack of employment opportunity or "whether I can move up" with my resources or trecjetory (or path).

         3 Trecjectory:

             1) Assimilate into the mainstream and move upwards

             2) Assimilate into the underclass and move downwards

             3) Nothing really happens (limbo)

Selective Assimilate Theory: Get to pick and choose to fit into that socieconomy/geographic/social onclave: (Human factor!)

Shouldn't assimilate to that strong religious group? (Pure assimilation)

Provides to much shelter, protection, and isolation

                Difficult to assimilate?
